Detatched Wing Mirror Lens

Featured Replies

Accidently hit a pheasant yesterday which flew up and hit my drivers side wing mirror, there is no apparent damage except that the mirror lens has popped out of the housing and will not clip back into position. The mirror lens is not broken but it will not clip back on. Help please.

Hi,

Lucky it didn't hit you're windscreen,

Hope you brought it home for the Christmas dinner ;)

The mirror lens are very finicky to fit,

Check all of the clips are straight on the rear,

Then using the mirror electronic control... move the face plate to a straight position allowing you to push the mirror straight on rather than at an angle.

Thanks Leonard, sorry I should have said in my post that the mirror is not electric, I can see just one protrusion inside but mirror does not seem to want to attach to anything, the only things holding the mirror assembly is just the control Bowden cables.

I know you have a newer model but see if this helps

Hi, Just been out and had another look the mirror lens it is still attached to the 'hub'. It is the hub assembly which has broken away from the molding, the anchoring point clips are broken. So I guess it is a new assembly. Where is the best place to get a new one from without paying Ford silly prices. Fiesta 2008 model - Mirror molding is black not painted.

Thanks for your help.
