The hardest part on removing egr is the cat but once you got the car up in the air (on axel stands or ramps) it's not to bad looks worse than it is

Maybe the easiest for you would to pull egr pipe off and blank it off as a quick fix

  • Author

Ive put a blanking plate inbetween the egr valve and the pipe to the exhaust manifold but it made no difference.

Did you reconnect the egr plug

  • Author

Yes

Looks like it's time to take egr off and give it a good clean

if the egr is blanked off, then its been disabled, so in theory taking it off and cleaning it is not going to make any difference???

could be wrong tho....

  • Author

That was what i thought that if i blanked it on then i didnt have to clean it.

this urs?

This is true sorry I was thinking on the lines of the car would start and run in limp mode with egr unplugged, wasn't thinking of bigger picture

  • Author

Yes that is mine in the picture it is blanked off between thst pipe and the egr valve. Im going to try it again today ive bought a ford diagnostic cable and laptop software do i will see if limp mode recorded a fault yesterday.

  • Author

Just wiped the fault codes and went for a drive re read them when i got back and got:

p0100 mass air flow malfunction

P1211 injector control pressure above/below desired

P2291 injector control pressure too low; engine cranking

P0201, p0202,p0203,p0204 all inject malfunctioning

P0251 injection pump fuel metering control A (cam, rotor, injector

And the same again p0251

Fuel pressure regulater imv valve possibly pump these all possible causes

  • Author

Ok had the car plugged and and tried to gather some information using the measuring tools on the software. Fuel pressure is about 21000.0 bar to 25000.0 bar when car is running on idle. Mass air flow reading 1.895 v when running on idle. Cylinder 1 2.001 nmb on idle, cylinder 2 showing 0 nmb, cylinder 3 2.001 nmb, cylinder 4 0 nmb. Egr valve showing 0.00.

What happens fuel pressure when issue happens

  • Author

Sorry i dont understand?

Check the live data while u driving car we know fuel pressure ok cause it starts but does it drop while problem occurs

  • Author

Il try tomorow i didnt drive it but i revved it and it went to 49000 bar + whilst revving.

  • Author

Ive had it to a mecanic who said there is a high pressure fuel switch on the back of the fuel pump that needs changing.

Yeah that's imv valve wat did he say he did to find that as problem

  • Author

I think he loosend off an injector pipe and tried to start it and it started.

  • Author

Im going to buy a imv but im still abit worried to why it says injector 1,2,3,4 malfuctions on the code reader

  • Author

Does anyone know of any other tests i can do to see if its the imv?

If u check ur live data while driving when problem occurs fuel pressure should drop if problem with pump or imv
