Now the lights,radio all work fine and it does not appear to be the battery which I will test in the light tomorrow

but the engine mobile system indicater light is flashing and then after a few seconds is on permanently

manual says see a expert which I will but was hoping someone might know what this is before I sting myself

    +1 on Mick, sounds like it might have lost that key temporarily. The spare key should resolve it. You probably want to get a mobile auto locksmith out to the car if the spare doesnt work!

    this is the light on but it does flash to start with constantly for about a minute

    Red light top centre of instrument cluster is the immobiliser. It sounds like you have a PATS issue. The keys could have been lost from the memory, I suggest you get a mobile mechanic with IDS to have a look, or an auto locksmith might be better to help you.
