Front Brake Disc Size??

Featured Replies

Been looking at my discs and planning on changing them all round however I have a problem as there seems to be 2 options for front discs. 300mm or 274mm?? Other than taking the wheels off and getting the tape measure out any ideas on what they should be. My car is a 1.8 tdci 57 plate with 16 inch alloys on of that helps.

Just found discs and pads all round for 85 quid for the lot.

mine is the 2008 1.8tdci, 18" snow flake's, 300mm fronts

mine is the 2008 1.8tdci, 18" snow flake's, 300mm fronts

Cheers, is yours the mk2 them or the mk2.5? Also,I'm guessing your 18 inch snowflakes were put on by you and not standard? I do like the snow flakes although I think I will be sticking to 16's

mk 2.5, and the snowflakes are factory fitted.....

Oh right, gorgeous wheels I love them. So in theory mine should be 300mm then

i was going say 274, mainly due to your has come out of the factory with 16" on?

I've spent ages on google and not found an answer. Someone said 15's 274 or 16's 300 but I'm wanting to find out for deffo before I order off eBay. Looking like I may have to remove wheels but don't have time until Monday.

ring up a local motor factor..... and with brakes you get what you pay for.....

All I get is there's 2 sizes and they ask which ones I want. Maybe I'm being a cheapskate with the brakes lol my local motor factors want 170 or these in the link below

what about ford? id spend that just on the front, maybe a little more. your rear only does 15% breaking so unless they really bad then id leave it, then replace at a later date.....

Will give ford a call after the weekend or possibly tomorrow morning if the parts dept is open. The brakes feel fine but noticed the fronts have a lip on them and at 85 quid thought I'd do the full lot but might just buy decent fronts.

Mine have been confirmed as 300 mm by Ford so that's that mystery solved. Will change them at next pad change which might be a while so in the mean time I will be on the look out for at very least front discs and pads
