Induction Kit On Fiesta Mk7

Featured Replies

Hey so basically I decided to put an induction kit onto my mk7 fiesta as I wanted a better sound without having to spend lots of cash, after fitting it the car seems to be losing petrol randomly and using a hell of alot more. I had 50 miles of petrol in the tank and after resetting the trip and driving around for about 10 minutes it claimed it only had 35 miles left but the trip said the car had only done 6 miles.. so now I am abit confused to where the other 9 miles went. A friend of mine said that I might need to reset the ECU. Any Ideas on whats gone wrong?

Hello,

Generally what you find with fitting inductions kits is that it can affect fuel consumption and its normally in the negative way. my friend placed one on his ford focus and he removed it within a week because the noise wasn't worth the bill.

i had one fitted to my first car, a 2007 fiat grande punto 1.4 sport for the very same reason you did and the fuel consumption fell also, i was filling up every four days partly because of me being heavy footed, but in comparison to every six days. you would only feel a slight difference in power during really cold mornings because as stated thats when the air is coldest. apart from that your sucking in warm air which affect engine performance.

Hope this helps you out

Regards
