THANK YOU TO ALL OF THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN HELPFUL AND UNDERSTANDED THE SITUATION.

oh. Theres no need to leave JAR, your postings havent done me any harm! I thought I was in support of you in this topic!!! (Its true, i was the first to condemn that dealdrivers post, and the subsequent anti-JAR propaganda - have a look, you'll see!)

Also other people may miss your informative topics! And you did have quite a bit of input into the Fiesta Meet!

(even though i am partially sickened by your dad buying your car for you ;) but thats just my working class way! take no offence!)

Keith, I'm not being impatient - I was asking when my dates could be expected! You are reading into what I am saying all wrong.

What the hell has that to do with anything!

But that's exactly what you are being. You have been told numerous times by everyone about the waiting times yet you're already starting topics about it and complaining. Nobody on here can answer your question.

Anyway, I rang my dealer yesterday (well actualyl i spoke to the receptionist and system team) who told me there was STILL no confirmed build or delivery date. They did reitorate that my order was placed on 27th March, and that it could take anywhere from 8 to 12 weeks for it to be built - meaning the delivery date should be sometmie within June, if not earlier.

However, I'm not realy satisfied with the service Iv'e been given - more specifically the lack of information iv'e been told!

That is what you quoted in your first post.

The only people who can tell you anything about your order have already told you your position yesterday. Who or how do you expect anyone on here to be able to tell you different. I have reassured you previously, I have sent you PM's to reassure your mother, I've explained numerous times about the procedures to you and so have others yet we are still hearing the same thing.

I ignored your post, it didn't bother me in the slightest, I only stepped in when Jo's response was questioned. I think Jo has every right to come into the debate, she's the one who sorted the deal out for you. Again, someone else it seems who has gone out of her way today to try and find out some more information for you. And I know, it wasn't you who questioned her.

I've said before I think you crave attention with the amount of topics you start, your "leaving post" just accentuates that thinking. If you leave, goodbye and good luck, if not, so be it.

:rolleyes: <_< :unsure::ph34r::angry::blink::huh::lol: ;) :o :P :( B) :D :)

Don't worry Keith, everything will turn out ok in the end...

I think that there are a few things we need to consider.

The first is regarding the original post by JAR. Whilst he has not made a direct attack on anyone, he has expressed a concern. This has resulted in many people responding with assumptions which in-turn has created negative statements about Ford dealers. The fact that he has not mentoned any dealer is not relevant because one response mentions them and since they are associated with a Ford dealer then all facts are disclosed. The lesson to be learnt is that if you have communicated a view which others have misinterpreted, then you have a responsibility for the lack of clarity and cosequential hurt it may cause.

Jar, you will find out later in life that it is how people around you perceive you that counts, not what you have literally said. Good managers and leaders have that skill.

The second point is that, whilst this is a public form, it is even more important that "banter" is carefully worded, so as not to offend or even worse dis-credit busineses. By doing so could destroy a business and the liveliehod of all those who depend on it. For those of you who are old enough you may remember the Jerry Ratner story whose jewlery shops went out of business along with 100s of jobs, because he told a CBI conference that "a prawn sandwhich would last longer than the jewlery he sells". If you are too young to understand this ask your parents.

Jar is correct in his comment that Dealdrivers have every right to respond, especially as this is a public forum. Equally if they have failled in their resonable duty then constructive vaidated would not be inappropraite.

Jar, I am sure we will hear from you again. Just take a bit more time to create a measured response.

I cant wait to see Jar's car!

I cant wait to see Jar's car!

lol same!

Which would be a fair comparison if you hadn't made another 220+ posts.

But, the only time Jo has felt the need to come on here personally as a representative of Deal Drivers was to put right things that were said about the company. What are they supposed to do, just let it go and let people think different and possibly affect buisness.

They have a right to defend their corner, that's all Jo has done, nothing more, nothing less.

Nobody has had a go at Jar for having a dig at the dealers just because he is impatient, or do you believe it's a one way street?

If Jar hadn't gone public and got in touch with the dealers or Deal Drivers privately, then there would have been no need for Jo to approach this forum, in fact I doubt she would have registered. It was Jar who went public, not Jo.

This has got a little to much hasnt it? lol

Anyway, i have added 10+ posts on here, moaning about the dealership and the lack of information given to the customer (yes, thats correct, we are the customer, you know, the one who is paying the bill) and i havent been attacked like JAR has, just for voicing my opinions. Surely we are aloud to do that? Obviously not in a Vicious way, but that is what we are here to do isnt it? to talk, chat, offer advice to each other?

What is a forum for if you cant talk about things that are important to you!!!???

BTW - i got my car!!!!!! i picked it up on monday!!!

Jar - my advice to you? keep on for information from your dealer. i made a complaint to the sales manager regarding the non exsistant customer service i received. But, the car was Definitely worth waiting for :-) im so pleased with it and so impressed. Believe me, the looooooooong wait was worth it.

x

Lucy - I want to see proof!

Glad you got your car. I'm not jealous in any way! You waited long enough.

lol thanks! iv only had it a few days, im still trying to get to grips with the voice controller thingy, so much fun though! lol

I must say, i was so suprised and please with the drive. It is really smooth on the road, light steering and really comfortable. It is a breeze to park her (of course she is a girl, although i havent named her yet! lol) i am just so pleased and happy with her. It is denfinitly a step up from my last Fiesta.

Il try and get some pics for you at the weekend!

I wish I had ordered that for my car. Never mind. Glad to hear its going well and its a good drive. Really pleased for you! I've not test driven one yet. I'm keeping it as as surpise!

The difference in your case, you was about 2 months into your order and Jar is what, 3 or 4 weeks, plus I don't think anyone's attacked Jar. The fact he is complaining the day after he was told by the dealer they are still waiting to find out the build date, is being impatient. That is what I pointed out, nothing more, nothing less.

I'm not sure what this customer service is that people keep talking about. Are they expected to ring everyday to say there's no news? I'm sure when they find out they will ring. That's not lacking customer service, that's not wasting theirs or anybody elses time.

No Keith.

I dont think anybody has ever expected or asked for an update everyday. It's quite clear that all people want is some information every couple of weeks, wether its a delivery day, a build date, or even just to say that they have looked into the build and it's awaiting an allocation of build date. I dont think that would waste anybodys time, the salesmen aren't exactly rushed off their feet, and it would give customers peace of mind.

Is that really too much to ask Keith?

It seems to me that there are very few people on this board that have ever recieved an update from their dealer that they havent had to ask for themselves. Infact there have been plenty of posts from people who have had no dealer contact for over a month from order. A large chunk of the cost of the car goes to the dealer, the sole purpose of the dealer is to supply the car, in the absence of said car the dealer should update. The reason for this is that people have waited for anything between 6 and 12 weeks. Its bad enough having to wait for a package to arrive, when dispatch say "It will arrive between 7am and 6pm" But dealerships might as well (in some cases) just say "It will arrive somewhere in a 6 week window, we will call you when it arrives, but expect to wait three months for this phonecall". Thats not acceptable in my view.

I'm getting a bit worried by you Keith.

Ahh, well you see, as i am now going to explain, it is the lack of Communication that is most irriating in these circumstances. What is more annoying than calling 5-6 times and never receiving a phone call back? You say, and i quote "Are they expected to ring everyday to say there's no news?" i would rather receive one phone call every 2 weeks to say there are no changes to dates etc instead of no phone calls at all, me, the customer, having to constantly contact the salesman. As i said before, we are the people paying £12k + for these cars and so i think we have the right to be treated as though we actually matter and actually be updated on a regular basis on what is going on with production/build dates etc.

Il give you an example of bad customer service. i walked to my dealership on the date i was told i could collect my car. When i got there, my salesman was on holiday, and so i spoke to someone else, who told me that my car wouldnt be ready for another 2 weeks!!!! Would you say then, that a phone call made to me, would have wasted my time?

An example of lack of communication? I went to my dealership to pick my car up on monday. After being there for about an hour, (waiting for the car to be delivered) my salesman asked if he could have some important personal documents of mine in order to finalise my finance. These documents were not the kind you carry around with you everyday. So then my partner had to make some phones calls (to his mum lol) who then picked him up, went home to get the documents, then drive back to the dealership. Now, no one can deny, that a phone call made to me the day before, would have avoided this very annoying and unorganised situation. lol i thought my other half was going to explode! he was so stressed.

i wasnt even excited about picking the car up by then. i was just glad it 4 wheels and an engine! lol

No Keith.

Which is exactly what is happening in most cases. The estimates of delivery dates are told when you order, so why the big surprise when the car hasn't been delivered 6 weeks down the line? What is so important about a build date. I never had one, I don't feel I missed out on anything.

Maybe it's just impetuous youth, I don't know, you want it and you want it now, even if you were told it would take 6 -12 weeks.

I think I rung the dealer twice whilst I was waiting for mine and that was just to confirm that the date I was given hadn't changed so I could sell my other car. My car was delivered to the dealer the day before the date I was given.

The service I received was impeccable.

And don't worry about me, I'm dandy fine.

Which is fine and probably the reason why nobody "attacked" you for speaking out.

Do you think jar has had bad customer service as he implied, and the reason for this discussion?

I've just been called by my dealer (after 3 messages earlier today). I wanted to let him know that I want to give him my car next week when the car tax runs out. He told me that my car is currently in France (so near) and should be with them week ending 9th May. I should get it the following week cos they have to put the rear parking sensors on (damn I wish I had asked for it pre build!) So I know I will be in new car week of the 11th - 17 May. Just a bit longer than I thought but not as long as the June date he was giving me before. I've had to call him just to get an update. I'm a mature lady who is very impatient. I want it now!! But I am currently resigned to the fact that its coming and I'll bring all my ID with me to sign off anything I might have to sign off (thanks for that Lucy). I still cannot wait but I will and I know it will be worth it. I'll be without a car for 2 weeks. Hope the weather is still nice.

Which is exactly what is happening in most cases. The estimates of delivery dates are told when you order, so why the big surprise when the car hasn't been delivered 6 weeks down the line? What is so important about a build date. I never had one, I don't feel I missed out on anything.

"The estimates of delivery dates are told when you order"????

Yes Keith and most of the time they seem to have been wrong

I dont think you are fine Keith, you seem to have contracted that BMW-man disease previously discussed.

"I own a BMW, therefore better than you, therefore i am right, therefore I will have the last word"

And theres another point that you appear to have missed entirely...

Basically, imagine you was in a restaurant Keith, and you made a comment to your wife that you didnt really like the way they cooked you steak. Then somebody you didnt know from another table overheard your comment, got up, went into the kitchins, and told the chef that you were complaining about him! He most likely wouldnt be very happy and wonder why you didn't just go straight to him or tell a waiter, and you probably wouldn't feel very welcome at the restaurant in future. Despite the fact that you had probably spent £100's there in the past

This is what has happened to JAR. He made a very tame comment about not being happy about not being updated after some weeks. Dealdrivers read the post, and grassed him up to his dealer! His dealer will now think that he is being personally condemned all over the internet. JAR isnt likely to be very welcome at the dealership as a result, not good as he is forking £14,000 into the dealers pocket

What right has somebody got to eaves-drop on your conversation in a public restaurant, then use what they have heard againt you, when its got nothing to do with them?

What right have Dealdrivers got spy of JARS comments in a public forum, then use that against him with his dealer, when it's got nothing to do with them?

Which is fine and probably the reason why nobody "attacked" you for speaking out.

Do you think jar has had bad customer service as he implied, and the reason for this discussion?

oh yeah i forgot about that!! lol

I think that his sales man should work harder to get a build date. After all, isnt that what he is there for? to get the information that the customer is requesting? And JAR having to ring the dealership instead of the other way round? i, personally, think that is bad customer service.

lol and you talk of "impetuous youth". i knew what i wanted and i knew was getting myself into when i ordered this car, iv done it all before. I also knew i was paying ALOT of money for my car and wanted to be treated as a valid customer. but i was sadly disappointed.

I have Absolutely nothing against ford them self, i love ford cars! i wouldnt have anything else! Members of my family work for them, most of my family own a ford. Its the salesmen that i have a problem with, i think they have it all too easy. They were quick enough to take my money and try to make me sign on the dotted line, but where is the customer care after that?

ooooooo im all moaned out!!! lol im not taking anything you have said personally Keith, so i hope you can say the same to me. :-)

Oh, I forgot, you're the one who stereotypes people, say no more.

Not once have I said I am right, everybody is wrong. I remember somebody else saying that not too far away from here.

I have expressed MY opinion on the situation. I don't care a rat's backside if nobody agrees with me, it's MY opinon and I'm sticking with it.

Oh, and whilst we're at it, what part of PUBLIC forum do you not understand.

Apple Pie Any1? Gratz on ur cars pplz arent they Lush :D

There will be no eating in the new car! No crumbs, no drinks, no smoking, nothing to make a sticky mess!

Unless I get really hungry and want a kebab on the way home ....

oh yeah i forgot about that!! lol

But, as was explained to Jar, his salesman can't work any harder to get him a date because Ford themselves at the time Jar rang them, and even the day after, had not allocated a build date for his car. Jo from Deal Drivers actually went to the trouble to find that out for him. A salesman cannot magic a time when a car is getting built, it's nothing to do with him, he, along with the customer are waiting on Fords factories, he's in the same situation as Jar.

In your case, you had reason to complain, and that is why I said "Which is fine and probably the reason why nobody "attacked" you for speaking out.", because you had valid reason to. I feel Jar at this moment in time hasn't. I haven't said any different all they way through this thread.

I never take anything personally on a forum, not even when green eyed Jonny calls me for driving a BMW. ;)

A forum is there for a debate and to let of steam in a polite and expressive manner and if we all agreed there would be no point.

haha no kebabs! if your going to eat in your car atleast get something less messy, nothing thats bitty and nothing that drips lol

Apple Pie Any1? Gratz on ur cars pplz arent they Lush :D
