New Headlight Bulbs Fitted:d

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

Bought a pair of headlight bulbs off eBay to replace the original yellow ones and to be honest I'm very happy with the colour but maybe the output could of been better. The output is a bit better then the standard ones but not by a lot! But to be honest I can't expect much as I only payed £6 for the pair which isn't too bad I thought!

Attached a few picture so you can see for yourself

If they are the so called Xenon bulbs, I found that the standard bulbs were better. I use Osram Nightbreakers these days and they are only about £12.

I also use nightbreaker plus they look whiter tbh I'm really impressed with them

I bought the osram nightbeaker unlimited and I'm not really to happy with them, there are still pretty yellow

Where did you get them from I got some nightbreaker plus of eBay for 12.99.

I bought them because one if my bulbs had gone when I fitted the New one I compared it to the old one and it was not yellow defiantly white and brighter then the standard bulbs...

I bought the osram nightbeaker unlimited and I'm not really to happy with them, there are still pretty yellow

I would go for the Osram Hyper blue they aren't really legal but I have friends who have them and they have never been stopped for them

Phillips diamond vision for mains and dipped and fogs, plus 6700k philips led sides, carnt get much whiter unless you install hids.

Night breakers are meant for best light output , if your after that then these are the bulbs to go for, if you want white light then it's 5000k but with halogen they won't be very bright :(

I find my 5000ks very bright even during the day. But got hids to put in at the weekend when i get the car back

In a few weeks I'm going to order a 8000K HID kit it's very simple to install and will give you amazing vision and a nice bluish light

What HID kit did you go for?

i went for 35w 6000k slim ac ballasts

Do NOT order 8000K, trust me they don't look good, the people you see flying about with blue headlights are those with 8000K, it doesn't look refined at all. 5000K - 6000K are better, 6000K being the ice white which I would recommend personally, and are generally the colour of LED white lights.

Furthermore, get AC ballasts than DC ballasts, if you're not sure then don't get them.

Those are what I have, I'll get a decent picture later on when it goes dark if I can think on.

got my hids today they sent the wrong ones so i got a pair of H1's for free haha H7's on the way lol looks like a double conversion it is then ;) do hids go ok in the h1's?? or no?

I wouldn't put hids in your h1 main beam, not suitable for flashing at all. Require a warm up time unfortunately and you'll just blow the bulbs.

cheers ill sell them on thanks

Actually, they're fine to flash as long as you're not going round flashing everything under the sun. I don't know if you'll have noticed but when they first light up, they hit their maximum kelvin rating, then cool down instantly and then heat up to their maximum kelvin rating once more.

The problem is in a reflector housing on a bright day I don't know if they'll be effective or not as I haven't tried, as most cars with HID main beams have Bi-Xenon projectors which focus the light.
