Hi all

Just a quick question on the boot when I shut the boot it just bounces off the lock

It takes 3 attempts to shut/ lock the boot .

I adjusted the striker plate and check from inside the book it was aligned

I'm now down to 2 times to lock the book not really a slam it shut type of guy

In some way at least I won't shut the keys in the boot :-)

Exactly the same as mine. Unlike you I have no problem slamming it down though! :P

Hi Chris,

Try applying a lubricant to the catch, it should help to free the mechanism.

Hi all

Thanks for the replies

In some way nice to know mines not the only one that does it....

I will try and give the lock a grease up see if that helps

Reckon it could just be the model.. The boot is so light on the Fusion it probably just doesn't have enough weight to hit the lock and close if you don't give it a good enough slam!

Not that it will help you in any way but my boot shuts with just a gentle push. No idea why but i guess it's like it should be.

Hi all. Mine usually takes two goes to shut it. OK its not as heavy a boot lid as my dad's saab.....shushh but his is different and heavier.but I am still having the unlocking problem though. I will have to try and take the boot lid apart tomorrow....
