White Zs And Gun Metal Grey Wheels?

Featured Replies

As title, it's brand new with the 17" wheels, any views on having the wheel colour? it's a powder coat polished GM Grey I was thinking of having and also thinking of having front calipers and rear drums done in Red.

Your thoughts please.

Cheers, Roger.

Thanks Lee, just not sure about having calipers and drums in red, don't want it to seem to much like a ST2 wannabe, that's why I'm after peoples thought.

plasti dip is big in the usa, it's a great idea because you can just peel it off, but I think you can only get a matt finish on it? I could be wrong. As to the life expectancy of it I have no idea. Still a good alternative.

Well there is a place not far from me that can do all 4 wheels for 80 pound plasti dip

And pc would cost between 250 and 300

The red break callipers sure look nice on the ST ! I'd go for it . - the colours work so well together with the grey wheels . Callipers have been " race red" years.. brembo ect , won't look like a wanna be .

If cost is swaying you then plasti dip is your best bet Ben, it' a good alternative and like you say a lot cheaper, also if you don't like the look it's easier to go back. Just peel it off.

Wheels = yes

Calipers = yes

Drums = NO!!! If you must paint them just do it black, don't draw attention to them.

I think doing the drums in red would look terrible, or any colour ,other than black..

Yeah or even better Leave the drums alone

Hi as iNath says not the drums will stand out like a sore thumb (YUCK!!)Red drums do look a bit boy racer.

Cheers lads, I must admit the drums would look wrong.

So wheels and calipers it is then.

Having them done this thursday and friday and then its going into "finer details" in Chadderton m/cr. on monday for a wax and seal job.

Will post pics when done.

Looking forward to seeing the wheels.

Yeah make sure you get some detailed pixs up but if you are worried about it looking like a ST wannabe, black alloys look really good on a White car and there is one on Autotrader with black optional extra 17's and looks really smart

Your right black does look good, but only if the spokes are wide, if not it can look just like a space saver wheel.

Are you going to get it lowered ?

No, I've been down the whole mod road before with scooby's etc.

just the wheels and front calipers plus internal lighting, oh, I've ordered philips silver's for the indicators front and rear and a "S" badge.

I've put the lockwood sills on, they look ok.

Might look into some better front bulbs but not to sure yet, tonight will be first run home in the dark.

Just an update boys & girls.. got the car back today from AWR in Bury and I must say I am well pleased with the powdercoat job on the wheels and the paint job on the calipers.

"Polished Gun Metal Grey" is the colour.

I have also put the "S" badge on grille & de-tango'd the front and rear.

cheers Paul.

That colour looks perfect on a white car. Always thought black wheels were just a little OTT for me but that does look really good, great choice of colour.

When you get time can you do some pics of the whole car, side on.
