How long dose it take to be on the Ask MID web site as I changed my details to my new car on Saturday as Ford Insure said I was fully insured today (saturday). But checked today (Wednsday) I am still not on there what do I do as I don't want hassle with the Police. :unsure:

    I think insurers have to do it within 7 days. Just keep a copy of your insurance docs with you, or at least note the policy number.

    As long as you have evidence that its insured its fine, they will contact your insurer at the roadside. I have to say, I have never had a problem though. The amount of times i have changed car / insurance policy over the years...

    The ammusing thing was, I changed over to the mondeo, called the insurer, got them to insure it from then on (mid afternoon) drove home, and went past countless police cars on patrol (true traffic cops) and an ANPR checkpoint and it didnt ping, none of the police cars hunted me down.

    Drive sensibly and dont bring the attention to yourself and I am sure you will be fine :)
