Does My Car Have Canbus/bulb Faliure System?

Featured Replies

Hi

Car is a 2010 "60" reg mk4 Mondeo 1.8 TDCI Zetec.

I'm wanting to fit brighter led rear amber indicator bulbs but have been told that if my car has canbus or bulb failure warning system, I will also need to fit resistors. Can anyone tell me if my car does have a canbus bulb faliure system or not? Thanks!

indeed it does. You will definately need the extra resistors fit inline, or you will need to buy the bulbs with resistors built into the bulb cluster.

There is one more cheat.... You could tap into the wire and fit a second bulbholder, put a normal bulb in the tapped holder, and then the LED's in the cluster pointing out. You will then have no issues, but of course, behind your boot plastics, you will have a little orange disco :p
