Mondeo Oil Light Not Working

Hi just wondering if anyone can offer any ideas as to why the oil light is not working on my 2002 mondeo, bought it a few months ago with no oil light working then all of a sudden when turning the engine over I noticed the oil light flikering then after that it was working as normal and going off when engine was started. Now the oil light has stopped working again, could it be anything on the engine end?

    could be just the bulb in the cluster, sounds like a bad solderjoint if its flickering on and off randomly.
