Minor Dings

Featured Replies

Hi Guys.

I am picking up my 'new to me'. Mondeo ZETEC tdci on Friday and looking forward to it.

Its not perfect but its what I could afford on a limited budget.

I got it at a reduced price as it has a few dents as in the picture below and a small cigarette burn on the drivers seat.

There are also two annoying dings on the drivers side rear wheel arch and rear hatch as in the pictures below.

I am on a budget but wondering if anyone has any ideas on improving matters?

I am wondering if the wheel arch ones my be improved by accessing the rear arch and simply pushing it back or using a simple puller? I have also read methods using a hair dryer and compressed air (ice) and the rapid change in temperature causing the dent to 'pop' out..or a combination of both the pull and temperature method.

As far as the rear hatch is concerned I am wondering whether a basic small 'spoiler' added to the boot may simply cover the damage (or at least reduce the look).

Any ideas would be helpful. As I say I am on a budget (which is why I have not managed to buy a better car). But I am now a Ford Mondeo TDCI owner and would welcome any assistance.

The rear wing looks like an easy fix. You should be able to just pop it out if you gain access to the inside like you said.

The boot is a nasty one because of it being on the bend.

A cheap fix would be to sand it down and.filler it then spray it. That would work out cheaper than a spoiler I recon. Depends if you will spray it yourself or get it proffessionaly done.

Hi

Yes I agree. Fingers crossed about the wheel arch.

I dont mind spending a little on a small spoiler. Just thought it would look a bit better.

I will have to search flee-bay.

Yea have a look on eBay. Not too sure if it will cover it though. It might make the spoiler not sit right if the dent has pushed any part of the lip up.

Nice car though. Shame about the damage. Hopefully it shouldn't take too much to repair.
