Car Stalled Coming Off M6 And Reverse Sensor Failure

Featured Replies

hi, i am wondering whats happened to the car and hopefully someone came throw some light on it for me.

this happened last week as i was driving down the m6 and after 30 mile or so the grandkids needed a toilet break,so i pulled into a service station. i am very lazy regarding gear changing so i came into to carpark area and dropped from 6th to 3rd gear, the car then stalled(no shakes or clunking from engine or box) i bumped it from 2nd gear and parked up.after a 20 min break i continued my journey covering about 100 mile with no further event except that i had no reverse tone from the sensors and no reverse lights.having looked on this forum i was going to change the reverse light switch as this seems to be a issue with this car.got in the car and the sensors worked again as did the lights. i have only driven 60 or so miles this week in local traffic and everything works fine. like i said at the start i am wondering what went on and wonder if anyone else has had a similar problem, sorry for waffling on, thanks in advance, paul ps its a 2005 2.2 titanium x

Reverse sensor going off like that could mean your reverse bulb has blown. Give it a check to see if thats what it was as thats what was wrong with mine. Dont have a clue about the cut out though, ill have a word with my brother who's a mechanic to see if he can let me know what it might of been.
