Rear Carpet Panels Mk3 Estate

Featured Replies

Hello guys,

The carpet panels in the boot of my money pit are in a disgusting quite frankly and an unrepairable mess. I ordered a new pair from a seller on eBay and they have arrived. Now I'm unsure of how to remove the old ones, I know I could effectively be a bit brutal with the old ones but I don't want to run the risk of breaking anything.

Does anybody know the best practise to remove them?

May thanks

If you mean the side panels, all you do is unscrew the plastic trim across the top (the two hooks and a screw where the retractable cover goes), the rest is tucked behind the rubber door trims by the back seats and the tailgate.

saying that, the carpet should pull out but its safer and better for when you fit the replacements to take the top trim off.

Cheers steve

No problem :)

After thinking about it, you may need to loosen a few more screws but no need to take off completely so you can tuck the new carpet in.

The C or d pillar trim (or whatever its called) and the plastic scratch protector piece that goes along the bottom of the tailgate
