Upgrading From A Y Reg Focus

Featured Replies

I have a Y reg focus which has 95'000 on the clock. It's been faultless over the 18 months I've had it with just a few repairs for wear and year.

It's a real gas guzzler tho! I use it for getting around on short journeys but also on a 15 mile drive to/from work most days.

The car is great but I find it quite uncomfortable. I know it's only short journeys but still... I feel like I want an upgrade.

I was looking at £5k for a Mondeo. On Autotrader I saw a lot of good cars.

What stood out was the 2.0 TDCi Titanium. Really lovely looking.

Few concerns from a personal view point:

- not sure if this car is too big - I mean I don't have kids. 99% of it's use will be just me in it.

- is diesel right for me - bearing in mind I don't drive long distances everyday.

- worried about getting rid of my indestructible focus for something they could be less reliable.

Just thinking outloud really, but any thoughts or advice?

Thanks everyone

Well, I have the 1.8 TDCi MK4 Mondeo, and it spends 60 miles a day - 5 days a week with just me in it, and I wouldnt change it for the world....

The mondeo is a workhorse and if looked after its worth every penny you invest in it, but it depends what year you are going for and the service history of it!

Let is know the details of what you are looking at and we can let you know what to watch out for!
