im sorry if this has already been covered.. im new to this site and not found my way round it yet!

my turbo is making a whining noise and seems to be a bit under powered.. it started three days ago and i have decided to hire a car and park it up until i can get it looked at..

my questions are,,

1.where could i either get my turbo repaired or buy a replacement?

2. is it a nightmare to replace and get access to?

3. if i buy a used one off ebay is there any codes i need to look out for or are all the mk4 2.0 tdci turbos the same

4. does anybody know somewhere i can get the turbo supplied and fitted at a reasonable price?

any info would be great!!

    Welcome to the family. To be honest there are plenty of places online that sell refurb turbos but I can't say I know of any favoured companies.

    Just buying a refurb unit with warranty and a local friendly mechanic to fit is the cheapest.
