Focus Mk3 Tech Advice Needed

Featured Replies

Hi all newbie here, bought accident damed 2014 1.6 tdci titanium nav estate with start button

Car had moderate frontal and was non runner, had engine out jogged and put new chassis legs on put engine back in, only damage was to engine loom, replaced with new one from ford and damaged clutch master cylinder so got no clutch, when you press start button says engine malfunction and won't start I was concerned ecu might be spiked so plugged one in from another car, that too says engine malfunction and obv don't recognise key, what I'm wondering is a, is it because no clutch? I assume clutch switch to start is electrical not a pressure switch or as something electrical shut down after rta? Can't be ecu because tried another, in old days you had inertia fuel cut off switch ,

Any advice appreciated

Clutch won't be overly relevant check for error codes and we can help more
