Rattles & Vibration From Rear Tailgate Mondeo Mk4 Fixed

Hi just had to share.... For months I've been plagued with a rattle/vibration from what sounded like the rear hatchback interior trim. Suspecting it to be from either the large plastic panel incorporating the grab handles or the side panels near where the parcel shelf string is attached. I've even taken most of these panels off recently to search in vain for it!

Today I investigated further and have finally fixed it! Turns out it was the rear number plate!! Mine is screwed on (not double sided pads) and the plate was vibrating against the trim... The fix: unscrew number plate, put two plumbers rubber tap washers in between back of number plate and car. The washers have a hole in the middle which you can put straight over the screw thread when it comes through back of plate... That extra bit of cushioning has restored peace and quiet at long last!!
