Engine Hunting, And Leccy Window Issue

Featured Replies

Hi all, few days ago I was woken by a neighbour who said Id left the car lights on...and thus the battery had run flat. No worries, just put some charge on it and started fine. Then I had to enter the radio codes etc, and all seemed well. Ive now noticed my driver window wont go up all the way by itself, prev it would with a longer press of the button. Oddly, the passenger side goes up and down with one touch, so whats happening there please? How to fix?

Also today, went docs to pick up a prescription, the car was used for approx ten mins from cold to get to the docs, then when restarting, I noticed and heard the engine hunting, rev counter going up and down by itself. when the car was at stand still. By the time Id driven home the hunting was gone, should I be worried? Whats the common cause of that?

Its a MK3 on an Xplate, 2litre.

Cheers for any hints!

At least for the Mk IV, there is a calibration procedure for the windows, where you have to work them up and down, so it knows where the ends are. It is detailed in the owner's manual.

Which engine is it?
