Start Stop Question

Featured Replies

When the car starts again when puting clutch on the red exclamation hand brake light stays on maybe 2 secs.....on mine at least.

Is it ok to drive before that goes out or should you wait? Feels like an eternity when you're first at lights.

I noticed mine doing this too. I haven't been waiting for the light to go out, seems fine

Isn't that to do with hill start?

Its like that but not on a hill. Maybe takes time to get steering and brakes back up n running ?

I dont get the red exclamation symbol.

I only use stop start if I'm not in a rush to set off quickly.

Although the engine restart is very sensitive, the power steering takes too long to be usable when wanting to set off quickly.

Just going back to this. I was testing today on road home and the red exclamation only remains on if I've stopped with hand brake on. When It starts back up and I remove the hand brake the light stays for that maybe 2 secs. Guess then this is activating the hill start, though doesn't need to be on a hill for this to happen.

If I stop without using hand brake then restart I don't get the exclamation at all.

I still say it's hill start assist :)

The exclamation mark is the handbrake light, so it wouldn't go on if you didn't put the handbrake on. The light and the handbrake have nothing to do with hillstart. For hillstart to work you just keep your foot on the brake

Yeah its sounding like it stumpy. Hoping one of you can tell me yours does same thing.

Actually I think Matt is right. I can't see anything on the net to show a light comes on or stays on momentarily. Have you spoken to your dealer?

As I've stated earlier, if I use stop start and put the handbrake on, the handbrake light does take a second or so to go off, even once you are on the move. It all appears fine though, the car moves forward as it should, I just think there is a slight delay with the light going out

There you go then gillyallan, yours is completely normal :)

Mine does it too.

Mine does this too.

The lights on the dash do seem randomly a little behind for most things on my ZS.

Sometimes the indicator click goes ever-so-slightly out of time too.

Yep and the fan speed goes up and down slightly too.

It's called progress, I believe.
