Mk6.5 Fiesta 1.4 Tdci Low Mpg

Featured Replies

Hello All,

I have a 2008 Fiesta 1.4 TDCi Zetec Blue (lovely first car, lots of ommph compared to a 1L corsa) however it has been getting quite low MPG. It sits around 45 day to day on a good steady run I have had 48. This seems terribly low to me for a diesel?

I have just done an oil, air and fuel service, egr blank and injector seal replacement, none of this makes any difference.

The car is running really nicely and I have taken it to the red line a few times to no avail.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Honestly the MPG figures for your car vary massively depending on the driver, whether aircon is on or not, electrical load etc. Even down to the tyres used and their rolling resistance. But how the car is driven makes the biggest impact on fuel economy. Have a look at hypermiling tips online.
