1.8Tdci Knocking Under Load

Featured Replies

hi all

i have recently bought a 2009 1.8 tdci zetec, lovely car and great to drive ;o)

it
may have a problem though, when cold the engine works as expected, but
after a mile or so of driving, there is a knocking sound which occurs
somtimes when engine is below 2k revs, and under load... sounds a bit
like an old diesel engine... soon as you hit 2k it dissapears.
sometimes it doesnt make the noise, other times it does. when in neutral
the engine revs as normal, no knocking sounds. there are no error codes
or messages...

does this sound like it could be faulty injector?

cheers
BM

thanks for the info Danny

does yours make the knocking sound? with mine it is hard to explain, but if you are old enough to remember the noisy cams on the old vauxhall cavalier, it sounds a bit like that...

If i can I will record it on my phone and upload it, just so you can compare...
