Air Belt Replacement 1.6 Petrol 2005-2008

Featured Replies

Hi chaps,

Can anyone give me any tips on this.. I took the pump off when swapping my engine and now I cannot seem to get the belt and pump back on? I presume you put the belt on at the same time as the pump as there appears to be no way of adjustment? Is there a guide or page from a manual someone can post up please.

Thank you

Lee

Anyone got any pointers on this please?

Cheers

You just need a 15mm spanner on the tensioner not sure of lay out of belt or where the tensioner is situated but put it on most of the way leaving the highest pulley to pull over when the tensioner is slacked off you will need the help of an assistant one to push the tensioner back whilst the other just put the belt on the last pulley .hope that helps .tip what I usually do is draw a diagram of how it's routed to help in refitting it as trying to do it from scratch canbe a right pita

No tensioner on this? I believe they are stretch belts? It just goes around the A/C and main pulley. No where else..

Thank you

Lee

The belt should go round the alternator as well, with the tensioner just above the crank pulley.

they are stretch belts if you buy a new kit from ford it comes with a tool otherwise I guess its just brute force and perseverance.

the tool forces the belt onto the pulley as you turn the crank.
