St Jack

Featured Replies

Hi All

When I bought my ST2 it was a pre built car and did not come with a spare wheel

I bought a 15" rim/tyre but didn't get round to buying a jack/brace etc.

I have just bought a spare wheel kit from fordpartsuk.

The jack supplied is a scissor jack but jacks for sale on ebay which say fit models from 2008 to 2014 all appear to be the y shaped type.

Can anyone with an ST confirm what sort of jack they have.

I also have the spare steel 15" rim for sale if anyones interested cost £41.81

My ST2 came with the tyre repair kit, no spare wheel or jack. I found a second hand space saver wheel which came with a Y shape jack on eBay for £70. I just had to buy a retaining bolt from the Ford dealer for £5.

I've tried the jack and it works ok on the jacking points.

Dave did you take off the cut out bits on the side skirts before jacking it up?

Don't think it makes any difference it being a ST , mines a Y Shaped jack in my S1600 MK7

I'd like to know about this too, I assume they have to come off before you can jack it up? I tried pulling one off once and it seemed so stiff that I gave up, not wanting to snap the side skirt lol.

Yes I did remove the cut outs, mine were also quite tight and not too easily removed but I guess if they were any looser you could end up with them falling off whilst driving!

Once removed they do give you better access to the jacking points especially as the ST sits lower on its suspension.

I've used the scissor jack and a hydraulic jack without taking the covers off with no problems. Just make sure not to crush the skirt though ;)
