Isofun
I have just purchased a 2003 Fusion 2. I am very pleased with my purchase although there is one niggling problem with the rear N/S door as it seems to lock and unlock (the handle moves when the central locking is activated/deactivated) however it won't open from either the inside or the outside (the outside door handle does not spring back). Can any one assist with this issue? If not I will attempt to fix the problem tomorrow and advise of the progress.
Isofun
Update - I have managed to remove the door panel with the door shut an caused no damage :). It appears that some one had been done the same previous as the panel underneath was conveniently cracked broken where I need to gain access. I undid the bolts and after some fumbling with the mechanism I managed to open the door :). I turned off the child-lock and closed the door, and still had the same problem. :( After some more fumbling I found that the outside door handle would only retract by pressing a lever on the inside, by doing this it now means that I can open the door from the inside constantly :). This means that the return mechanism for the outer door handle is either missing a return spring (or something similar) or is worn/broken. I have lubed the mechanism and springs as best I can and will leave it until tomorrow . Does any one know of a site where they have broken down images of car parts/mechanism's? I know A.J.Sutton do for motorcycles. I shall continue and report my progress. Dave
Isofun
Hi All, I am pleased to announce that the door is now fully functional :). All that was required was oil and time. Now for my next task.......OSF strut moves inside top mount housing. Cheers, Dave
