Dual Mass

Featured Replies

Well old dual mass and slave cylinder changed. Been on for past 2 hours trying to get the gearbox back together. Got as close as about an inch and a half to get the bolts back in and it keeps dropping. Ha ha. Never ever am I to attempt something like this. :-)

Have you got the clutch lined up correctly? The gearbox should slide on easily if you have

I think so mate. Got it back on the drive shaft there just a little gap about half an inch to an inch I can't quite manage to close. :-(

Got the gearbox on just putting car back together. Do I need to bleed the clutch once it's back together? :-)

Yeah you will need to bleed it

Thanks for the bits if advice stef. Dmf and slave changed. Clutch bled back through which was a peice of cake providing info I had was said that it's normally a rite nightmare. Lol. But all done and dusted just need to top the fluid reservoir in the morning and 4 days later back on the road. Ha ha :-)

Great news Phil.cwhwt did you do for aligning the subframe again?

I didn't take it off just dropped passenger side and didn't take gearbox fully out managed to do it with gearbox resting on subframe. Gave me enough room to get old out and new in. Just waiting in some more fluid and fingers crossed back on the road. :-)

That's the way to go lol. Would you do another one? Lol

Would I f**k. Ha ha ha. Worst thing I ever did. But then again. It wasn't to bad just time consuming. 2 full days it's took me. But that was my first attempt at something like this. :-)

Lmfao! I take my hat off to you, it's a fair effort for a first attempt!

With the subframe unbolted at that side, how much are we talking that it needs to drop? Guessing it's not much really

Nah it only drops a little on its own you have to force it gently with a bar then when the gearbox is on it it keeps it down out the way. :-)
