Hi guys. Gunna do a service on my Mondeo tomorrow. First one 2010. Was us logged anyway. Would anybody recommend using engine flush or just change the oil as normal. Heard good and bad about this engine flush. :-)

    My concern about oil flushes is that there is always some oil left behind. Wouldn't this contaminate the new oil?

    I prefer good quality oil changed regulary and Ford filter.

    I really do hope it has been serviced since 2010 .

    I don't use flushing additives unless there is reason or need to do so. As above I also prefer to do frequent oil changes using quality oil.

    Modern oils are full of additives and detergents designed to clean the engine as it curculates.

    Whenever I've services cars myself I tend to buy too much oil and what is left from a previous service I pour through the oil filler with the sump plug out and let it drain through until almost clear. It's not an exact science.
