Rear Badge

Featured Replies

Just booked my Mondeo in to have the rear badge replaced for free.

Does it really take 1.5 hours!?

They said they have to do a full check of the car as well.

All for free so not too fussed, but does anyone know what they do? Is it just a quick visual check or do they do software checks/updates too?

I wasn't sure if I should mention the minor issue I have (if I touch the throttle at all when starting when the engine is warm then it only revs to 500 rpm - not a major issue, I just don't touch the throttle!)

I don't really want to get charged for anything but it will be handy to have it checked over as I have a warranty which is still valid and covers quite a lot.

It's usauly just a visual health check they carry out

Thanks - I'll see how it goes.

Yes it was just a quick visual check.

The badge has been replaced with a nice new one, and they even gave the car a good wash :)

Hi

I assume they only do this if the car is still in warranty?? No hope then for my 2010 mk4.... I've recently put some overlay badges on!

They are doing it for any vehicle up to 10 years in service. So yours would certainly be done!

Give your local a call, you've got to be quite quick though - you've only got until the end of Dec.

Have a look at the attached for more info and quote it to the dealer if they pretend to not know what you are on about! :)

Here's a pic of mine before.... Are they usually this bad after just 4 years?[

Mine was as bad after three years, unfortunately I changed it before they announced the free change

Mine was like that but I put overlays on look perfect now white background black ford on a panther black car

I had overlays on for a while to hide this... Carbon effect on grey car looked nice. I found that the front one soon started to come away... I guess it's because it's in the line of fire for wind & rain & stones etc

Rear one was ok but seeing as Ford replace them for free I thought I might as well go for it! Took it off and it brought a lot of the blue paint with it!!

Mine wasn't as bad as the picture a few posts up. Mine was fine years old and was just starting to go. The front one was still perfect though.
