Front Subframe Mot Failure

Featured Replies

Car failed tonight as aparently there is a hole in it from rust.

Seems a week point in the mk1 Focus by now.

Anyone repaired/welded theirs or bought new or used?

Seems a pig of a job if you dont have a ramp.

You need a ramp mate ive only known one person whos had to replace the subframe from rust but before having it done he sprayed it with hammerite and laquered it for extra protection

It is possible without a ramp.

I would get on ebay and have a look. I almost bought a focus diesel that had failed it's mot on the front subframe due to corrosion - a cheap first car for the mrs but it went for more than it was worth.

I was going to change the subframe on the drive - not an ideal job on the drive but by no means impossible.

Its not impossible without a ramp but not the easiest way to do it
