Focus St Spoiler

ive just recvd my st spoiler.has any one on hear fitted one onto a mk 2,5 .im after ways to connect the standard light connector to the st spoiler

I have fitted the st spoiler to my mk2.5 with ease following lenny guide,

Your current rear brake light will not physically fit into the st spoiler, in addition the wiring connector for both spoilerd are completely different

ive seen lennys guide and its very good.ive got the st light with my spoiler and know the connecters are different.im wonder how any one might have done it with out cutting wires.i want to try and do it with out cutting wires

You mean to keep the original connector so you can swop back when you sell the car . One of two ways I'd say solder st connector onto end of original or cut into the insulation and solder onto original wiring .not sure if the end is male or female if it's female you could simply with a very fine flat bladed screw driver feed the wiring into the connector then insulate that's how I,ve done my reverse camera like you don't like cutting wires .

yeah i dont really want to cut wires,im trying to make a lom to go from originall to new spoiler

I think you can pop the pins out of the original connector block and into an ST/ZS/C-max connector block if you can locate one.

A local scrappy may oblige you if you turn up with wire cutters and they don't mind you clipping off a plug plus a few inches of wire for a couple of quid.

i made a loom in the end.what i did was used resin,i waxed the inside of the socket coming from the st break light and put two wires onto the pins.i then filled the socket with resin and waited for it to dry.it dried soft wich is a result.i then used an old mk 2.5 break light bulb holder.i cut the end off.i soldered 2 wires to the metal sides and hey presto works ok

For anyone else thinking of this method could I suggest using Sugru?

You get a nice rubber plug once it sets.
