Leaking Boot

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I've just bought a 2008 mk4, but noticed there's a leak into the boot, not a huge amount but it definitely present when lifting up the carpet. Is this a common problem due to the boot size and is there a way of fixing this?

Thanks

Andy

Common problem with Ford Focus MK1,i don't know about Mondeo's sorted mine out last year, first you need to locate the water ingress.

Ah ok...looks like I'm gonna be doing some hunting lol

You got it. I had to do a lot of faffing around, got there in the end but a real pain.

I can narrow down which side it's from so that should make it easier ... but knowing my luck nothing is ever that easy

The reward is a bone dry car. Now the mist is on the outside and not the inside :)

Water was leaking in on the right side. 5 buckets of water I figured it was a seal issue, went to Ford and they said there was a TSB for the leak and supplied 2 seals which fit onto the boot lid. They seemed shocked it hadn't been done sooner

TSB?
