Will Ford Focus (2007) Door Match Ford Focus Ghia (2006)?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a problem with the passenger side front door on a 2006 Ford Focus Ghia and the whole door needs replaced. I was originally quoted £500 to get it replace with a second hand door which would include cost of door, respray to match the colour and fitting. I’m trying to save some money by getting a door already in the same colour.

I managed to find a door online in the same colour from a 2007 1.6 diesel ford focus (this was all the information the garage gave me). I’m ordering from England (I’m in Northern Ireland) so don’t want to end up with a door that doesn’t fit and then having to pay £500 anyway.

Should the door of a 2006 Ford Focus Ghia match that of a 2007 1.6 diesel Ford Focus? Is there anything else I should ask before buying?

I’ve attached pics of the car and the door.

Yes it should be fine. The focus didn't change much from 2006 to 2007.

I'd find out what happened to the donor car, if it's been smacked in the front or the other side there is a possibility it's twisted ever so slightly, which can be nigh impossible to get it onto a straight car, other than that no reason why not, so long as Ford didn't change the colour in between years, may look the same until you get it on, breaker can confirm the paint code.

Cheers lads, will check with the breaker on the original of the door.

If the colour wan't 100% it wouldn't be the end of the world but I'd be gutted if I got the door and it didn't fit. I'd be stuck with a door and have to shell out £500 anyway!

You may run into some problems with the electrics working correctly on your new door. If the new door runs a door module and the old one doesn't, for example, then you'll have difficulty getting windows and locking working ok etc.

Seem to remember someone else swapping doors and having problems as they didn't realise the electrics were different specs, will post up the link if I can find the topic.
