Gearbox Leak - 1.6 Mk2 Petrol Focus

Featured Replies

After swapping my engine over and replacing the offside drive shaft. I have found after topping up the oil I now have a leak coming from where the offside shaft ngoes into the box. If I have over filled the box would that result in a leak or is there a seal there that must have got damaged and needs replacing?

Cheers

Lee

there is a seal that goes there its not that hard to replace :)

So no chance it's just overfull? I am guessing not! Is there a how to or workshop manuals page I can be directed to? Or is it just as simple as remove the shaft, hook out the seal and replace?

Cheers

Lee

if you over fill it the oil will run out of the filler hole. I think its full just under the filler

hole and yes you would hook out old seal and renew
