Hi my focus has recently started playing up and breaking down garage called in diagnostics guy who say it has itermitant canbus fault anyone have any idea's what this could be please

    Hi problems were car cutting out or just not restarting rac guy said was a canbus issue and took it to garage mechanic found the if he moved wires to box in passenger side footwell it would start if he moved them about again car would stop he called in diagnostics guy who spent 4 hours on it and said it was ecu i spoke with ecu doctor and he said very unlikely ecu for intermittent canbus fault just pullingmy hair out with it

    unplug each connector, check for damage broken pins and locking mechanisms or damaged wires, fix it up, all good.

    The ECU may well stop the car working but if your moving wires about and it starts theres a good bet its got bugger all to do with the ECU itself!
