2008 Mondeo Tdci A/c Not Working

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Hope there are some A/C experts...

My car is a 2008 130 TDCI. The AC worked fine :) thought since it is 6 years old I would take to Kwik Fit for a gas. Few days after the gas A/C has packed in... Kwik Fit want nothing to do with it" Nothing we do can do that, you must have another fault". Tried reading codes on the display which shows no codes.

The compressor is not kicking in, I used to hear it before kick in, but now nothing :(

Please can anyone help... In summer the car is going to be awful as it is black, will be like an oven...

Thanks

Jon

Check relay first. Check using multimeter to see if low pressure sensor is open or closed circuit.

BOA power rwd focus.

Hi Jon,

Much as I said in my message, it seems to be a recurring issue on the early MK4's that the seals around the compressor seem to go, and just by the belt pulley - the part needs to be replaced. Mine cost over £400 to replace, and the part they got was recon with warranty, so it was replaced for a second time before it was fixed.

Not sure if you got this fixed, but on the mk3 (not sure if it could be same fault as mk4) the circuit for the AC (or part of it) is also for the heated washer jets on the bonnet..... my ac stopped working and after researching found a fuse kept blowing every time I turned ignition on, turns out is was those blasted washer jets causing the problem as they come on automatically.... so I disconnected them and ac works fine now and fuse stays in tact.

Sorry if this does not help but could be this!?
