Problem Finding An Egr Valve For My 2008 2.2 Tdci

Featured Replies

Hello Gentleman,

I am having a complete nightmare trying to find the correct egr valve for my car. £300 late two random EGR valves and an annoyed wife. Could any one point me in the right direction??

It is getting beyond a joke, My car is a 2.2 TDCI Titanium X.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Lenny

Also would it save me a lot of bother just putting a blanking plate on?

I presume its a mk4? if you could confirm that, also, what is the PS rating of the engine (there are different ones)

you can fit an EGR blanknig plate on, a solid plate can fix a sticking or faulty EGR valve, but the engine light is liable to go on

There were no faults on the computer.

Can you confirm that it is a mk4 Mondeo please? and the PS rating of the engine

Along with the obvious questions above, it might be advantageous to say why you were convinced that an EGR valve was key to your problem, originally. Is it just the limp mode thing that you mentioned, or was there something else (anything about the symptoms, basically).

Also, do you have any chance of getting the codes read? Codes could be a very good clue, and without them it might be a bit of a scattergun approach.

Is the car the 2008 you mention in your thumbnail? And how many miles?
