Turbo Actuator

Featured Replies

Hi folks.

2.0 TDCi ghia X 2006/7.

Sometimes on switching off the engine it appears the actuator motor for the turbo vanes seems to move more than it normally does. The only thing I can think of is that it moves the vanes backwards and forwards a time or two to possibly keep the vanes free of gunge.

Does this sound reasonable or have I a problem? It only seems to do it say after a couple hundred miles or so.

Many Thanks

With the Euro4 engine with the electronic actuator its quite normal for the actuator to reset itself when you switch off the engine, it may seem to reset itself more after a long or hard run, but this may be because of the position of the actuator so its probably ok

The vanes can coke up over time and stick ,though, of course
