MattDRX
As poll says, economy is looking extra good this week but...
alexp999
I'd say yes, but don't blame me if it doesn't haha. Only because when I picked up my Focus, dealer put in 25L and it was on about 1/6th of a tank, so there must be a lot in reserve...
TomsFocus
I say no, but not due to it being a Ford.
potter18
Dont run it low you'll get all the crud blocking your fuel system
MarksST
Will there be much crud in the fuel tank of a still fairly new car?
Willy
That's all tosh. The fuel is drawn from the bottom anyway.
Paramanic
Agreed with Willy guys it's al cwap because as what Willy said fuel is drawn from bottom and that all started with cars having metal fuel tanks new cars are plastic am sure
MattDRX
Pretty sure My fiesta will have nothing bad in the tank, it's filtered at the pumps these days and one of my old cars that had done 140K and made in 1991, took the filter off due to it having running issues and low and behold, didn't look any different to a new one inside, was a factory item too. complete myth imo. Well done 65 miles since yesterday and just under half tank left, by the way this is on poverty Tesco standard fuel too.
Paramanic
thing in the paper today that fuel can be down to 99p in the next 4 weeks!!!
MattDRX
In already 80P in the Canary Islands, less than $60 a barrel, when it was the low last time we paid about 80P a litre, these fuel companies take the right !Removed! out of us, Govt are too frightened to tell them to !Removed! off and drop it, I also lol'd at an article on inflation hitting 1%, they compared the fuel drop saying it was similar to a wage increase, whooooo. guess I won't ask for one in the new year then. alexp999
We have 58p tax plus VAT (on tax and fuel) built in to our fuel price though. Which means that the price of fuel for £1.15 is actually only 45p inc VAT.
Paramanic
absolutely shocking! they badley need to drop it its got beyond a joke...... how many people huv got ridden ai their cors cause ai it ....fricken Gov.....as ma papa said years ago driving will be for rich and privileged in future if prices keep going up sorry got me going into ma scottish wae :P
Phil 87
Voted no but not cos it's a Ford. More because Ford design the trip computer to make you think you have more miles left than you do, then under 100 miles to go it reduces by 2 miles for every mile you travel lol.

Well I'm fae Motherwell and went to Blackpool and back plus stopped off in a couple towns in between (roughly 430 miles round trip) only used 3/4 of a full tank........... MattDRX
Ok so 412 on the clock at 44.3mpg fuel light just come on with 45 left in it apparently. Going to be close.
TomsFocus
Ah, your poll confused me. Just realised me error. I thought it was 400 miles on top of the 250 you'd already done! :P I've found the range in the Focus to be pretty accurate tbh. Start with about 650 miles, end on 600 miles with 50 left on the range lol.
MattDRX
Well here are the results.
MattDRX
5 miles left in the tank according to cup but would have done a bit more for sure
MattDRX
So over all cost of running the ST over a 1 litre in my opinion is 6 litres of fuel. Doubtful anyone has done better in the 1.0 I never did.
TomsFocus
Is that 45mpg? Not bad for an ST!
Phil 87
Is that 45mpg? Not bad for an ST! Yeah that's impressive. I'm struggling to get 35 mpg in this cold weather, but I do quite a lot or urban driving (26 mph average when filled up today). Although I've had up to 48 mpg on a long motorway journey. Jeff4155
You guys shouldn't complain about the fuel price, we're paying about the same as you guys but because our Rand is down the drain at the moment we hardly get any price drop and a lot less for our money's worth, on the other hand SA is overflowing with tourists because everything is so cheap for them, I earn a average wage and yet 1/10th of my salary goes towards fuel, and I drive below the average person per year, just to give you guys some perspective Sent from my iPad using Ford OC

My salary is a bit less than average in the UK but if I drive 10,000 miles in a year, fuel would only take up about 5-6% of my salary. Probably less than that if the fuel prices stay as low as they are now.
MattDRX
I'm currently doing that above mileage in a week / tank a week, so near £300PM!!!
