Rattle (Drivers Side)

Featured Replies

Hi

Last week I purchased a 2008 Ford Mondeo Edge, 1.8TDCI with 100k on the clock, we've put about 400 miles on it since we've had it and so far it seems to be a pretty steady going car, I actually prefer to drive this rather than our newer Fiesta.

My only gripe is that there is an annoying rattle coming from either the dashboard or the engine compartment around the driver’s side which I cannot locate, I have had a search both on the car and around the various forums / Google etc... And most of the information out there point towards the air filter box but as far as I can tell that's not the problem this time around.

The noise appears to occur when idle and sounds very much like pieces of plastic hitting each other, there are no vibrations and I'm unable to recreate the noise on demand.

Sorry I know these threads are annoying since it could be a million different things causing this, but you never know someone might have the answer :)

(I will try and get a recording and upload it to here)

Any help is appreciated

Thanks
