Mondeo 2002 Tddi Lost All Power!!?

Featured Replies

Hi,

My Mondeo 2002 tddi seems to have lost all power to the point where it is struggling to even get up the road to my house (is steep). Will get to about 60 mph but takes a lifetime to get there.

I'm a bit clueless really to what it can be I've ordered a new Fuel filter, oil filter and air filter so hopefully have them in by tomorrow but cant really see it being that.

I also capped of the EGR valve today but was still the same.

Just wondered if any one has had similar problems and can shed some light as there aren't any warning lights or anything showing up just lack of power.

I found this post on youtube showing how to fix the turbo by drilling a hole into it and squirting in mr muscle seems to have worked well for a lot of people and I was going to try doing that until I looked under my bonnet and my turbo looks completely different???

He also shows on this video

how to check if the turbo is faulty by checking the actuator arm but again cant see that on mine :(. Is there any way I do a check like this on my turbo to see if this is the problem? and would there be any way to do the same thing for cleaning out the turbo?

Any help would be greatly appreciated guys.

Regards,
Dan

Hi guys,

Managed to fix the mondoomo today. Happened to be a disconnected MAP sensor.... back to perfect working order now.

I'm just intrigued if anyone watched the youtube video on the post as to whether this is possible on my type of turbo? Mechanical Fixed vane with wastegate as I would like to clean it out and service it.

Cheers,

Dan
