Mk4 Driver's Door Handle

Featured Replies

It was -5 in the morning@ 5am near Manchester this week and i only drive 5+ miles to work and twice my drivers internal door handle wouldn't let me out? I had to drop the window and open the external door handle to let myself out? Been fine ever since? As anyone else had this problem ?

Cant say I have seen that issue, but then again I havent hit that temperature.

Is it just the driver door?

I think so? I haven't tried the other doors , I've had similar problems b4 on nearly all my Mondeo's since the

Mk1 Mondeo where I've opened the door but it's that cold it won't shut propley again because its that cold? I've now covered the locks in WD40.

Wd40 will drive out any water it reaches but I would suggest you use a proper silicone based lubricant it grease to try future proof the issue

I'd forgotten about that stuff, Am sure that's the same stuff the engineers swear by at work for putting around your rubber door seals etc. in winter?, I'll pop and see them monday and borrow some, many thanks

No worries
