I have not long got some struts off eBay they are the overal same length but the the tube the pole slides in is longer than original

Would this cause a problem?

if i have read it right ,, then you will not have the same amount of travel before the suspension bottoms out when hitting bumps etc

As long as the pole that slides into the housing is shorter to compensate it should be fine.

the overall size of the gastric boot struts is the same as the other ones on the car. It just the tube which is longer. The tail gate opens up the same as with the old one on. Just the tail gate stays open lol.

sorry i misread what you put ,, i was thinking of the suspension struts in the rear..

Can any one help

was in a car park the other day and a mondeo owner walked up to his car opened the boot and the tail gate lifted fully it was an estate and as i am lazy thought that would be great as he did not have to put shopping down and pick it up again. as i was driving past at time unable to stop and ask also at work not very professional if i was to stop at the time.

has anyone done this or know how is it just upgrading the struts? where would i get upgrades from?
