Driving along today my fuel service light pinged on the motorway and still pings up on starting the car

Does it genuinely mean the oil needs changing or does it automatically come on after a certain period and the message just need clearing?

I ask because prior to buying the car, the dealership said they would service it for me, including the oil, and stamped/wrote in the book to say this.

I have only had the car sinse mid december so if the dealer did change the oil as part of the service, surely it wont already need changing now?

Sonds like they didnt reset it when they serviced it, when you say fuel service light you mean oil service light?

So it does just come on at periodic intervals n doesnt actually mesure d quality of the oil?

Its time and or an algorithm of your journeys, no idea how it works it out though. Lol

Ha ha, did you want me to tell you? Lol ign on then press brake and accelerator pedels down together and wait until displays oil service reset complete, ign off. All done

kept saying something along the lines of in the process of resetting it (not those exact words) and said to hit ok

hit ok n the warning light bonged straight back up

had to do it a few times before it cleared
