Been to ford and while i was there i asked if the cigarette lighter turns off after a time.

Answer was...don't know,he came out and checked it with car open and locked and still direct

live on the lighter,said that ECU might shut it down after a period of time ????

So does it stay live 24/7

    On the mk7.5 I think the rear stay on for a bit (sure I tried this ages ago) the front turns off with the ignition.

    My front never turns off,so far 1 hour and still on,live 24/7 is better for my dash cam as all i have to do is plug

    in or out if i want it off or start record.

    Would like to know,its 2011 titanium 1.6.

    In one way it's better if it would turn off as the dash cam would start auto as power would start.

    There are 3 options this was.

    Leave all plugged in and set cam to go off in 5mins ( still charging 24/7 )

    pull cigarette plug out but don't set cam to turn off so you plug it in and it starts

    leave plugged in and leave camera run 24/7 (not a good thing ) set setting to No auto off on camera

    Either way you have to turn it on as you start.
