New Fiesta Ecoboost 125 Insurance?

Featured Replies

I'm in the market for a new car and can afford a Fiesta on a lease. This one is a 1.0L Fiesta EcoBoost 125 Zetec S 3dr.

What should the insurance be like on this seeing as it's in insurance group 15?

I'm 18 and have been driving for 8 months, my current policy is £1500 on a 1997 KA 1.3L.

I was quoted by my insurance that it'd be just £30 to swap to a 2015 Fiesta including a £28.50 admin fee. To possibly help put it into comparison, I was told I'd get a refund of £80 for a Corsa 1.2 Design.

I thought this was mistake at first, surely it'd be more considering it's a 125bhp model and a higher insurance group? Is there anyone around my age insured on a car similar to the Fiesta?

Running various quotes online between my KA and Fiesta all come in around the same which I thought was strange. What would you have thought it'd be for someone my age?

Another strange thing, my insurance wanted £950 to swap to a Citroen C1.

I expect somewhat high.

I'm 19 (nearly 20) and have been driving since Jan 2013, I've got pass plus and 3 years NCD/NCB.

Even for my £5,000 1.4 TDCI Fiesta Edge (2011 plate) it was £695 fully comp with a £500 excess through LV.

It does include things such as £10,000 personal injury cover, legal assistance, courtesy car and windscreen cover however.

I'd probably expect it to be around the £1800-£2000 mark given your age, and driving experience, especially considering it will be a higher value car.

Just what I expected too.

Does seem a tad strange that my Insurance would only want £1.50 (Taking away Admin fee) to insure it onto my current policy. Would it be silly to assume that that'd be the same when it comes to renewal time?

I also forgot to mention that they wanted £90 more to swap it to the 1.2L 80bhp Zetec despite being about 10 insurance groups lower. Is insurance usually this damn complicated!?

It comes down to safety ratings stuff aswell
