Squeaky Clutch Pedal - Newbie Problem

Featured Replies

Hi, I've just joined the FOC, I've just picked up a mk4 Mondeo 1.8 on Friday.

There's bits and bobs wrong with the car but the most annoying has to be the squeaky clutch pedal, there's receipts there to say the clutch has been changed and the lad who sold it said he has just had the pedal box done? I'm wondering if that would cause the squeak?

I've sprayed 3in1 on every pivot I can see, even the plunger at the back, but no joy. It sounds like it's coming from the plastic at the top of the 'spring' on the back of the pedal.

Apart from that I'm enjoying my first Ford, it's going in the garage on Thursday for a once over and a full service, hopefully the lads there can find where it's coming from.

Well it eventually stopped last night. Like you said it's been a few days since I sprayed it but it's now gone.
