Ford Mondeo Graphite 2.0 Tdci Engine Shuddering

Featured Replies

Hello,

I Bought my Mondeo in December last month because I needed an upGrade from my Audi A2 due to Having a baby on the way and a new job involving a lot of travelling.

Everything was running fine but 4 weeks into having the car on the 1st start of the morning the engine starts 1st time but goes straight to 1000rpm and after a minute the rpm needle begins to bounce between 1000 and 900 rpm and shudders the car. I have to rev the car a few times before it goes away and stays at 900 rpm.

I was wondering what the best way to fix this would be?

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thank you.

it could be something as simple as the idle control valve or the Mass Air Flow sensor.

Thank you.

How would I find which it could be and how could these issues be fixed?

I can't remember which is on your Mondeo. Look at the air filter box. If the hose comes off it and has an electrical connector in it you have a maf sensor, which can be cleaned with electrical Contact cleaner

are you doing just short runs? That can cause probs, these engines need a good hard run at times to clear probs
