Front/rear Parking Sensors

Featured Replies

Has anyone noticed that most, if not all, the front or rear sensors that are mounted on the main body valance, the 2 outer ones, are not colored coded to match the body. The 2 inner ones are always black as they are mounted on the black body work. All the sales brochures show them color matched.

This may be due to the item being dealer fitted, even though it's an optional factory ordered item.

I should like to know if any of our readers have noticed this. Perhaps your outer’s detectors are colored to match.

I think it looks nicer when they match as they don't standout so much.

Mine are colour coded.

Bizarely, factory fit are black and mounted lower down with 2 in the 'diffuser' panel and 2 on the bumper and dealer fit are colour coded and mounted above the rear 'diffuser'

Mine were dealer fit and colour coded. Course my car is black so not really sure!

Yep - mine are "factory fit", two in the grey plastic and two outers on the bumper - and they're all grey!

Bizarre as you would think that the factory fit ones would be the better looking ones . . .

Mine are the same Andy; all grey plastic which I do admit looks strange..........but they work so I don't really mind!

If you ordered it as an option (i.e factory fit) then they will be grey ones - if you have ordered it as an accessory (dealer fit) then it will be colour coded . . .

Always amazes me as you would think that the factory would be able to do the better job but it does not seem to be the case!

Just curious - what colour are the front parking sensors and why are they not available with the dress up kit?
