2014 Fiesta Door Handle Removal

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have dented and scratched my door handle on my 2014 plate 3 door fiesta.

I've managed to get hold of one from ebay of the same colour, but i can't find the guide on how to replace.

There's a black piece of plastic on the inside of the door that I've removed and there looks like I need a long torx screwdriver?

Any ideas?

Regards

easy enough, your in the right path, remove the black grommet, not sure what size the torx screwdriver, but insert screwdriver, and undo torx screw just enough until the cover around door lock comes loose, do not unscrew torx too far.

remove the cover, grab handle and pull out slighty and at same time slide towards where the cover was, as you can see on the handle from ebay the one end has a cut out where it pivots.

should take you 5 mins most to do.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm glad I'm going in the right direction.

If anyone knows the size of the torx please let me know as I don't have any long handled ones so need to buy one just for this.

Hi Guys,

Right so I have the correct tools now and the part, had a quick go but im worried about messing it up.

I kept unscrewing the screw but nothing loosened up, how far do I need to unscrew?

I dont want to go all the way and then bugger it up

Regards

I unscrewed, a lot! Just hold the lock or the plastic cover if it's the passenger side and wiggle it while you unscrew, I probably unscrewd for about 10 seconds.

Thanks Dan, that helped me alot.

Managed to do this yesterday and it was very easy once I knew how far I could back the screw out.

All sorted.

Thanks to everyone that helped me out.

No worries, I couldn't think of away to explain it but it's done now, but yeah... It is one long screw ;)

Is it possible to take that t20 bolt out and replace it?

  • 2 years later...

Good morning, my sons fiesta door handle is getting stuck and not opening, I think it is down to the lock part being loose, when I tried to tighten I noticed the T20 torx screw is not present and hence why it’s loose, anyone know the spec on that screw thead and screw length needed for a replacement?
